Well the rivalry round certainly lived up to expectations this week with a phenomenal match between Port and the Crows.

It was on from the buzzer and the one thing on everyone’s round up of the match was the aggression shown by both teams, making this one of the most brutal meetings of these two teams in a very long time. Port were the losers of 6 of the last 7 times these country/city cousins have met and the Crows certainly were not going to let that record go.  The Crows defeated Port 85 - 79 in what we think is one of this season’s classic games.

In other news this week, the North Melbourne coach Dean Laidley has had a melt down at a post match press conference, but funnily enough - it has raised a few interesting points that will no doubt be discussed. Laidley slammed the umpires on the field during his team’s disappointing loss to the Hawks by saying that the umpires during the match had “conversations and body language and sounds from umpires that shouldn’t happen at this level”, he has since apologised for this.
