Masters Golf Odds - Amateur Leads the Way
November 23, 2006 11:24 pm GolfQueensland Amateur golfer Aaron Pike fired on day 1 of the Australian Masters at Huntingdale today, as he shot a course equalling record 8-under par 64 to take the clubhouse lead.
It is obvious that nothing can really be taken from the leaderboard after day 1 of a major golf tournament such as this, but Pike certainly made a few people sit up and take notice today - he is just 21.
Looking at the odds, it is interesting that he still sits a long way from that favourites, even though he’s generally 4 shots ahead of the best of them. You can back Pike at 26.00 at www.iasbet.com.au, if you think he can sustain his momentum. Of course, history says he can’t.
Other notable golfers in the market are (holding joint favouritism at 9.00) Peter Lonard, Justin Rose, Robert Allenby and Aaron Baddeley.
