The Charger posted a modest total of just 143/3 and gave the Royal Challengers every chance of reigning in the total for a historic victory.
However with the IPL trophy well and truly in sight, the faltered towards the end losing nine wickets for just 137 runs to hand the trophy to Adam Gilchrist’s Chargers.
The victory is the second time a retired Australian superstar has Captained his side to victory.
