This award to Ronaldo is indeed deserving and justified. The Portuguese player is only the fifth player to have scored more than 30 goals in a premier league season. His impressive 42 goals season has also earned him Europe’s top scorer award, the "Golden Shoe"
Of his 42 goals, the most impressive and memorable one has got to be his 42nd goal in Moscow as he equalized to draw 1-1 in this showdown with Chelsea, and despite missing in the penalty shootout, United still emerged tops.
Although there has been talks and fevered speculation that Ronaldo will be making a switch to Real Madrid, these talks has been squelched as Manchester United has announced recently last month that Ronaldo has pledged himself to the Red Devils.
