The AFL Hall of Fame match this weekend was played a staggering 9 years after the last AFL match of it’s type was held. The match was immensely popular with just short of 70,000 attending the MCG to watch the Dream Team take on Victoria. Victoria took out the match by 12 points.
But to spite this success, the AFL remains adamant that the match is a one off, with no plans to make it a permanent fixture on the AFL season calendar. Shame, it was a fantastic match and doesn’t seem to have impacted any of the players greatly to see them miss any fixtures this week.
