Bet on NRL Online – Greg Bird Saga

Rugby League NRL No Comments

The Greg Bird saga continues at Cronulla after the NRL yet again postponed any and all decision making for the Test and New South Wales five eighth.

BET NOW

Four months ago the Cronulla star made headlines when his then girlfriend was admitted to hospital with a fractured eye socket following a n alleged glassing incident at their Cronulla residence.

Although charges were laid against Bird, his girlfriend did an about face just a few days later pleading with the courts for charges to dropped.

The charges were subsequently downgraded to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of lying to police in the aftermath of the incident.

Cronulla executives immediately stood Bird down and suspended him from training pending an investigation into the incident and it has since been reported that they were planning to sack him as early as last month.

However, legal documentation from the players association saved Bird from the axe and the club will now have to wait until a verdict is handed down following a court appearance on April 27th 2009.

Until such time, Bird remains on the payroll but will not take the field in the light blue Cronulla jersey until he has been cleared of any wrongdoing,

Should he be found guilty, Cronulla is likely to terminate his four year contract and de- list him, leaving the door open for English Super League side Warrington (who has already shown interest) to sign him.

Best sites for nrl tipping online

Rugby League NRL No Comments

The National Rugby League (NRL) is the top league for professional rugby league football in Australasia, which naturally generates a lot of attention and consequently punters taking sides and putting their money where their mouth is.

BET NOW

Essentially, footy tipping is a betting pool where tippers (competitors) try to predict the winning teams, and with increased popularity, many large scale tipping are entered with major wagering companies. Another way that tipping may work is “tipping by the odds”, where tippers only place their bid after odds are announced.

There are a couple of websites that offers good tipping, but as with all sites, they don’t assume responsibility for your decisions. One favourite site is OzTips.com, where the tips are supported by statistics and an extensive forum where you can bring in the views of many like-minded people before you reach your decision. And here, you can put your bet on as well.

Another less known, but hugely popular place is http://blogs.news.com.au/couriermail/nrltipping/ where similarly, people give their opinions and decisions on the many games that are up and coming.

Other sites include the popular and well know site, sportsbet.com.au, which prides itself as Australia No.1 betting agency. Also, try footytips.com.au which although similar in function, offers slightly more than other sites in terms of functionality.

Well all up, most of these sites provide free bets for new signups and referrals. If you’re just starting out, perhaps a good idea is to start accounts with these sites, and use your free credits to start the winning streak and celebrate your favourite team!

Centrebet.com.au – Rugby League World Cup

Rugby League NRL No Comments

www.centrebet.com.au - In one of the biggest boil overs in Rugby League history, New Zealand has defied the odds to claim their first ever Rugby League World Cup, relegating the highly fancied Kangaroos to a shock second.

Australia has made their entire world cup campaign look like a one horse race, easily sweeping aside all opponents to score a birth in Saturday final.

BET NOW

The script was written as the embattled Kiwis limped into the finals and it appeared that everybody thought they were there just to make up the numbers.

The problem? Someone forgot to mail the script to the Kiwis.

Right from the onset the Kiwis made it very clear that it they would be no pushovers, firing off a stirring Haka into the faces of the less-than-impressed aussie before the opening whistle.

This set the scene for a stinging opening exchange which went the way of the Kangaroos who lead 10 – 0 before a controversial penalty try gave the Kiwis a sniff and then the chance to take a 10 – 12 lead.

Despite throwing everything at the Kiwis, Australia just could not seem to find there way back into the lead and more controversy was to ensue when a errant stripping decision handed the Kiwis field position and yet another soft try.

Australia wasn’t done handing out tries either.

After a blistering first half and being named the best player in the world, a moment of madness from Billy Slater saw him flick a ball back inside to avoid going over the sideline online to have it pounced on by a Kiwi defender he raced ten meters to score untouched.

The final score of 24 – 32 will no doubt be long talked about by the Aussies and long remembered by the Kiwis,

NRL tips- 2008 Season

Rugby League NRL No Comments

Rugby League fans were not left wanting for long after the curtain came down on one of the most physically demanding, entertaining and controversial season’s in recent history.

To Bet on NRL CLICK HERE

Just when we all thought it was time to settle in to watch the cricket, the Rugby League World Cup rolls around, providing League fans and compatriots alike with a veritable feast of Rugby League talent and action.

Bookies had tipped the Kangaroos to suffer early from lack of preparation but a clinical performance against the Kiwis on Sunday dispelled any rumours that Australia’s reign at the top of international Rugby League was near its end.

Despite playing no warm-up matches and training together for just over a week, the new look Kangaroos have gelled nicely, in particular Origin ’07 teammates and halves combination Jonathon Thurstons and Darren Lockyer.

The Kangaroos will go into Sunday nights clash with old foes Great Britain as red-hot favourites after the lads from the mother country struggled at times against a courageous Papua New Guinean outfit holding out to win 32 – 22.

It can be argued at times that some teams are just there to make up the numbers but try telling that to 200 odd footballers who have been granted the honour representing their country on the world’s biggest and brightest stage.

The odds of another Australian victory are firming by the minute though the Brits are a tough and disciplined outfit.

It remains to be seen if anyone can match it with the Aussies, who seem miles ahead of their nearest rivals, but one thing that punters can bank on, there will be no shortage of class, skill, entertainment and determination from every player who takes the field.

centrebet.com.au – Sydney Spirit vs Gold Coast Blaze

Past Three Head-to-Head
Gold Coast Blaze 92-98 Sydney Spirit, Round 4 2008.
Only met once

Season Series
Spirit 1-0

Current Standings
Spirit 4-8 (ninth), Blaze 1-11 (10th)

The Gold Coast Blaze backed up their first win of the season with a hard-fought loss to ladder leaders the South Dragons last Saturday night while the Sydney Spirit challenged the Melbourne Tigers and led late in the third term before the Tigers took control, eventually prevailing 98-80.

The Spirit’s chances of registering their fifth win of the season were dealt a blow by the loss of underrated guard Liam Rush, who scored a game-high 27 points when these two sides met in round four.

More pressure will now be on import Derrick Low to fire and lift his side to a much needed win while the Spirit will also need Jason Smith to have an impact – a big ask considering this is just his second match back after a long layoff thanks to a shoulder injury.

When these two sides met earlier in the year James Harvey and Shane Heal were damaging for the Blaze, scoring 24 and 20 points respectively.

Rob Beveridge’s men will need to deny the aforementioned duo the time and space to get an open look otherwise they will be consigned to their ninth loss of the season.

In the previous clash between these two sides the Spirit dominated the boards – they had 20 offensive rebounds.

The Blaze will need to box out this time around otherwise they will give away easy second chance points

The battle inside the paint will go a long way to determining the outcome of this match with the Blaze appearing to have a slight advantage given the presence of new import Justin Bowen.

Bowen managed 26 points, eight rebounds and three assists in his NBL debut against the South Dragons and he could prove to be the match winner on Wednesday night.

The Spirit boast a workmanlike side while the Blaze have the likes of Heal and Harvey who are capable of scoring quickly while Bowen is also a danger.

This punter believes the fact that the Gold Coast has several genuine game breakers tips this contest is their favour and given the fact that both sides are desperate for a win a close match is on the cards, so money on a Blaze win by 1-10, offering $3.95 appears to be the smart option.

www.centrebet.com.au – Stuart O’Grady has taken out the 2008 Jayco Herald Sun Classic.

The 35 year-old rider crossed the line in a time of 14:20:48 to claim his first ever victory in the event and cap off what has already been a fantastic season.

To Bet on NRL CLICK HERE

O’Grady finished nearly seventeen seconds clear of CSC Saxo Bank team mate Lars Bak and nearly 24 seconds ahead of the third placed Toyota United rider Benjamin Day.

The hard working veteran stunned everyone in the second stage when he rode away from the main group and held on to win with a magnificent solo effort.

Despite surrendering the leader’s yellow jersey to team mate Bak after the fourth stage, O’Grady caused another boil over by taking at the individual time trial over a field full of more fancied opponents.

O’Grady, who is not a renowned time trialist turned in a career best performance to win by over three seconds and all but guarantee victory with only the criterion race around Lygon Street in Melbourne to go.

Praised for his unshakeable support for teammates in this year’s Tour de France in which more often than not he could be seen doing the hard work at the front, O’Grady has earned a well-deserved individual accolade that has eluded him for some time.

On a sadder note, team CSC Saxo Bank teammate and Olympian Brad McGee called it quits after a long and successful career at the top.

McGee was elated to see teammate O’Grady get up in Australia’s oldest tour event.

All riders will now be gearing up for Australia’s richest cycling event – the Tour Down Under which takes place in Adelaide and South Australia from the 18th to the 25th of January next year.

With the State of Origin series not too far off, players are scrambling to put in big performances this week before selectors bed down their teams for the clash. One player who is still hoping to get a start in the State of Origin is Jarod Mullen. Mullen knows that he has one last chance to cement his claims to a state of origin jersey in front of the melbourne and NSW coach Craig Bellamy when the bulldogs take them on this weekend.

With an ongoing knee injury, Darren Lockyer could face up to another six weeks on the sideline and this would effectively rule him out of the State of Origin series.

Both teams for the State of Origin series game 1 will be announced on Tuesday, with the opening State of Origin game being played at ANZ Stadium on May 21.  The final match of the series will be played on July 2.

The win this weekend for the Titans notches a club record 5 wins in a row and with the form of the current line up, we think they can make it 6 next weekend.

In other news, the Aussie Selectors announced the NRL Centenary Test team for the clash against New Zealand over the weekend. There are a bunch of test debuts to be made during the Centenary Test. The line up is as follows Billy Slater, Greg Inglis, Mark Gasnier, Justin Hodges, Israel Folau; Darren Lockyer (captain), Johnathan Thurston; Brent Kite, Cameron Smith, Petero Civoniceva; Ryan Hoffman, Paul Gallen; Greg Bird Interchange: Carl Webb, Anthony Tupou, Willie Mason, Kurt Gidley

Luke O’Donnell sent fear through the doctors and trainers in the Cowboys camp after hobbling off field during their match against the Warriors. He didn’t return, but luckily scans have revealed that the injury is in a different spot to the hamstring torn last season.

In Brisbane, Hunt has had scans that confirm he has torn cartilage in his knee during the Broncos and Titans match on Friday night and is set to miss the next two games, effectively ruling him out of the May 9 test.

Winners are indeed grinners and this week we see wins from the following: Titans, Manly, Bulldogs, Panthers, Cowboys, Knights, Tigers.

Hang onto your hats guys, the Titans have finally won an away game and just to rub it in a bit more, it’s put them at the top of the NRL ladder. An outstanding performance on the the road for the Titans and one that is bound to inspire and motivate the team over the coming weeks.

NRL Tips – NRL Round 4 Review

Rugby League NRL No Comments

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Just when you thought it was safe for South Sydney to think their season was back on track – think again. They have suffered their 4th straight loss this weekend to Manly and their mammoth efforts of 2007 look to be well and truely extinct at this stage of 2008.

nrl tips

centrebet.com.au have you covered for all your NRL Tips needs.

It’s lucky for the Rabbits that coach Jason Taylor remains optimistic even after watching his team look like fluffy easter bunnies against a powerful and commanding Manly outfit. Taylor has said of his side “This is a great position for us to be in, it’s a great position for us to show what we’re made of” – let’s hope it’s before we get too further into season 2008. Manly won the match up 20 – 2.

In other news this week, the Titans seem virtually unstoppable at home with another impressive victory over the Raiders on the weekend. The match was marred by a 67th minute “king hit” by the Raiders Michael Weyman which saw all referees on field needing to step in to separate all 26 players on the field before Weyman was given his marching orders.

The recipient of the punch was Titans reserve Daniel Conn who had just moments earlier scored under the posts to seal the game for the Titans. Conn was forced from the field with a suspected broken nose and a very unsightly gash under his eye. How long he will miss is yet to be seen, but it was certainly one of the most ugly moments of the week’s round.

Winners in NRL Tips this week would have had their money on: Storm, Sydney, Cronulla, Titans, Cowboys, Warriors and Manly.

Barnstorming runs and monster efforts all round this week in round 3 of the NRL. One of the best wins this week was the Broncos 36 – 2 annihilation of the Cowboys (happy days for those with NRL tips on the Broncos!)  in what can only be described as a big warning to the rest of the teams this year – are the Broncos primed to give Wayne Bennett the ultimate send off? www.iasbet.com.au

NRL Tips

After such a win, all eyes turned this week to Israel Folau, the local brissy boy who has decided this week to return home to play for the Broncos in season 2009. The decision has rocked his Melbourne teammates and is bound to influence NRL tips next year. The Broncos are undoubtedly happy with their latest player acquisition and will get the chance to see him play up close this coming weekend when they meet the Storm at Olympic Park.

Winners are grinners and this week your NRL tips should have been on: bulldogs, panthers, titans, canberra, sydney, broncos and parramatta.

NRL Round 2 Update

Rugby League NRL No Comments

Sizzling is the only word that springs to mind of some of the match ups that took place this weekend in Rugby League. One of the most definitive efforts of the weekend was the 30 – 12 thumping that St George gave the Titans after their sparkling opening round victory at Skilled Stadium. Get your bets on for next week at centrebet.com.au

But it wasn’t all about the Titans this week, there were a few wins that rate a mention in our round up. One of these being the Warriors belting of the Eels and also more notably West Tigers smashing of the North Queensland Cowboys, quite the upset this early on in the season, so expect some good odds from centrebet.com.au next week.
In game round ups, this week’s spotlight belongs to Brett White and his jaw shattering right hook on Ben Cross which may just have caused White to rethink what he is doing on the night of the first origin game. League great Ben Elias has called for Brett White to be listed as a starting forward now for Origin 1 after the punch on Cross, who had prior to this landed a blow on White’s team mate Cooper Cronk. Does this theory stand up? We will have to wait and see, but there is no doubt that White may miss at least 3 weeks for looking after his mate. centrebet.com.au

The winners in Round 2 were: Bulldogs, Canberra, Newcastle, West Tigers, Warriors, Cronulla and St George.

The match-ups for next week’s round are below, our tips as always are in Blue:

The new name on everyone’s lips after this weekend’s round is the Gold Coast Titans Jordan Atkins. Atkins blitzed the cowboys wing and scored himself 4 tries on debut – a feat that has not been accomplished since the 40′s. This opening effort at their new stadium is certainly sending a big message to the rest of the teams – the Titans are definite contenders this year. centrebet.com.au

South of the border, there are injuries to Craig Wing and Benji Marshall that are sending the respective coaches searching for replacements so early in the season. The star South Sydney recruit Wing is facing scans this week to determine the extent of the injury and if surgery is required which will definitely put a massive dent into the south’s outfit if he is out for an extended period.  Marshall’s injury is a serious tear to the ligaments of his knee which could see him sidelined for up to 12 weeks – a massive blow to the tigers this early on. centrebet.com.au

Next weekend’s match ups are certainly sure to stir up the fires again with the following games slated:

Cowboys v Wests Tigers
Dragons v Titans
Knights v Sea Eagles
Panthers v Raiders
Rabbitohs v Bulldogs
Roosters v Broncos
Storm v Sharks
Warriors v Eels

Bet on NRL Round 21 – Best NRL Betting Preview

Rugby League NRL No Comments

It’s Round 21 in the NRL premiership and we have all the NRL Betting Coverage for Round 21. It’s getting close to the end of the season and there is a massive logjam to make the Top 8. I don’t remember a closer comp down in those regions.

Here are the latest odds for Betting on NRL thanks to www.Lasseters.com.au:

Canterbury Bulldogs vs Parramatta Eels
1.91 vs 1.91
The Bulldogs got out of jail last week against the Dragons and we feel they may rest on their performance a little. Expect there to be fireworks in this clash. The Eels to just scrape home.

Newcastle Knights vs St George Dragons
2.45 vs 1.57
The Dragons will be absolutely stinging from last weeks defeat while Newcastle will also be hurting from their big loss. The difference is that St George should have won – the Knights were never in the hunt. The Dragons to win in the bet of the week – in fact they will get up with -4.5 start too!

Gold Coast Titans vs Wests Tigers
2.30 vs 1.63
This is a tough one. It seems as though the Titans have close to a full strength team this week and will be very very keen to come away with a win at home. The Tigers are due to slow down a bit and could get a shock on the coast. The Titans to win.

North Queensland Cowboys vs Canberra Raiders
1.65 vs 2.28
Both of these teams are on the cusp of the Top 8. The Cowboys are not showing they have much this season – their forwards are letting them down. If Canberra can stop their attack, the game will be there for the taking for them. Expect this to be very close with perhaps the Raiders to win.

Penrith Panthers vs South Sydney Rabbitohs
2.10 vs 1.75
The Rabbits need to continue their winning forum and the Panthers really need a win. But all is not well within the Panthers club and one would expect Souths to get up here. But just when you least expect it, teams have been winning this season – Penrith to just get up.

Sydney Roosters vs NZ Warriors
2.65 vs 1.50
Rooster have been flying high but it’s time to drop back to earth. This will be a very closely fought match especially on the Roosters home turf. The Warriors are a better side, but will they turn up?

Brisbane Broncos vs Manly Sea Eagles
2.55 vs 1.53
The Broncos still have much to prove this season. They never looked like being beaten against the Sharks last week and so they still remain in the hunt to defend the title. But the Sea Eagles are a tough team to tackle this year and will probably get up here. Want to have a bet? Brisbane at +6 points is a chance.

Cronulla Sharks vs Melbourne Storm
4.05 vs 1.25
Melbourne will spank the Sharks. 1.25 is good going and even take them at -10.5 if you want. This is a laydown (we hope!)

Bet on NRL Round 20 Odds and Preview

Rugby League NRL No Comments

It’s ROUND 20 of the NRL.com.au season and hasn’t it gone fast! Here at Winning Margin, you can BET ON NRL like never before with the latest and greatest Australian sports bookmaker, Lasseters.com.au

Here is our Round 20 NRL Preview and odds:

Sydney Roosters vs Melbourne Storm
4.40 vs 1.22
The Roosters have been on a roll since appointing their new high profile coach, but they should come back to earth under the might of the Storm this week. However, expect this to be closer that one might first think – the Roosters are riding high while the Storm might be lacking motivation and could need a loss to spark them at this end of the season. Close match expected.

Canberra Raiders vs Penrith Panthers
1.42 vs 2.90
This battle of the cellar dwellers is sure to send most of us to sleep on paper, but we expect this to be an entertaining match. The Panthers have lots to play for because the last thing they would want is the wooden spoon. But, Canberra has a chance to make the Top 8 and this week they can prove they should be there – Canberra to win.

NZ Warriors vs Newcastle Knights
1.20 vs 4.65
The Warriors are on fire right now and it won’t be changing this week. It’s tough for a team to come away from NZ with a win, and the likes of Newcastle will struggle to do that this week. The Warriors all the way!

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Gold Coast Titans
1.50 vs 2.65
This will be a tight match up – lucky for the Rabbits that they are at home. The Titans need to get their season back on track but injuries are preventing that. South Sydney to win and they will restrict the Titans to a low score.

St George Illawarra Dragons vs Bulldogs
2.15 vs 1.72
The Dragons are back in town and looking to make the finals. We think they will surprise the Bulldogs this week – who are the most overrated side in the comp?

Brisbane Boncos vs Cronulla Sharks
1.45 vs 2.75
The Broncos can still finish the season well and they proved last week against the Eels that they can still match it without their big names. This will be a close match but Brisbane will win.

Parramatta Eels vs Manly Sea Eagles
1.77 vs 2.08
The Eels weren’t THAT impressive in the 2nd half last week. The Sea Eagles will start fast and hold on to their lead with their good defense. Manly to win.

Wests Tigers vs North Queensland Cowboys
1.45 vs 2.80
The Tigers welcome back Marshall this week and expect him to fire against a NQ side that needs to pick up their game. Wests to win by 10.

Rugby League NRL No Comments

An interesting week in the NRL.com Competition this week. With the State Of Origin series now behind us, it’s full steam ahead to the finals – and it’s going to be a rocky ride. With matches being very unpredictable all season, this week is proving to be no different. Here are the current odds and our preview:

Wests Tigers vs Penrith Panthers
1.42 vs 2.90
The Tiger’s will be hungry to win this one, as it should be their easiest in the run into the finals. Expect them to maul the woeful Panthers.

Brisbane Broncos vs Gold Coast Titans
1.37 vs 3.10
The Broncos will be battle weary from an avalanche of matches for most of their players over the last month. Expect this one to go down to the wire – Brisbane to win but the Titans at the +8 point line.

South Sydney Rabbits vs Melbourne Storm
2.45 vs 1.53
The Storm should crack the whip in the match. The Bunnies have improved and will make the top 8, but they won’t be winning this one.

North Queensland Cowboys vs New Zealand Warriors
1.75 vs 2.10
It’s traditionally tough to win in North Queensland, but the Warriors’ defense is up for the challenge and we feel New Zealand will get up in this one.

Manly Sea Eagles vs Sydney Roosters
1.23 vs 4.30
The Sea Eagles need a win and this is the game to do it in. The Rooster will be looking to turn their fortunes around, but don’t expect it in this match.

St George Illawarra vs Canberra Raiders
1.45 vs 2.75
Canberra are a great price for this match up. The Dragons will be resting on their unexpected win of last week and will have trouble beating the Raiders here. Canberra to win or safety in the +7.5 line.

Cronulla Sharks vs Bulldogs
2.45 vs 1.55
Bulldogs finding form – Cronulla losing it. This game could seriously go either way – we’ll take the value in the Sharks, thank you very much.

Parramatta Eels vs Newcastle Knights
1.33 vs 3.40
The Eels are hitting their straps and should get up against the Knights. Warning though, if they are off their game at all the Knights will sneak home.

Bet On State Of Origin 3 – NSW vs QLD

Rugby League NRL, State Of Origin No Comments

BET ON STATE OF ORIGIN

What are your thoughts on the State Of Origin 3 match? It seems as though all of the money keeps coming for Queensland, but it could certainly be closer than expected. The current odds are:

Queensland: 1.53
New South Wales: 2.55

The line is around 6 points in favour of NSW. Whatever way you look at this match, Queensland should be favourites. They have a proven side that is willing to go the extra distance to win the game. The homeground advantage is especially critical in this match – Queensland should win. No doubt about it. Our thoughts are that 1.53 is a good price for the Maroons to win.

Round 15 NRL Odds – NRL Preview

Rugby League NRL No Comments

BET ON NRL ROUND 15

New Zealand Warriors vs Penrith Panthers
1.45 vs 2.80
Both sides looked unconvincing last week, but expect the Warriors to run away with this one on their home soil.

Manly Sea Eagles vs Bulldogs
1.53 vs 2.55
Sharing the top of the table with Melbourne, Manly are looking really good this season. This is a danger match for the Sea Eagles – The Bulldogs are ready to roar and we’re tipping them to topple the Eagles.

Canberra Raiders vs North Queensland Cowboys
2.00 vs 1.84
The defense of North Queensland in recent weeks has been woeful – seriously bad… I mean DREADFUL! But, expect that to end this week with a smashing of the Raiders in Canberra. The Cowboys to win easily.

Sydney Roosters vs Parramatta Eels
2.63 vs 1.50
This is a really interesting match up. The Roosters shouldn’t have won last week and the Eels have been up and down. 2.63 for the Roosters is good value.

Gold Coast Titans vs Newcastle Knights
1.62 vs 2.30
The Titans have been tough to beat all season. This will be a tight match but expect the Gold Coast to win at home.

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Cronulla Sharks
2.12 vs 1.73
Souths to win! Cronulla have been slipping recently and whatever side turns up to play this match will win – that will be the Rabbits!

Melbourne Storm vs St George Dragons
1.15 vs 5.50
The Storm are on fire… seriously! Don’t even think about backing against them at home.

Brisbane Broncos vs Wests Tigers
1.42 vs 2.90
Tough match, but Brisbane will go 2 wins on the trot against the Tigers.

Today we’re looking at NRL Round 14 odds in our weekly NRL Preview. It’s an interesting week with many key players backing up from Origin 2.

Bulldogs v Brisbane Broncos
1.50 v 2.50
A tough match to pick, but Brisbane look set to fire because they have a lot of pride to play for this week. Watch for a Brisbane win if Mason doesn’t play for the Bulldogs.

Manly Sea Eagles v South Sydney Rabbitohs
1.25 v 4.00
It’s tough to see Manly get beaten here, but the Rabbits are showing improvement. Their defense is one of the best in the comp right now, and a bet on Souths at +11 (or even +12 would be better if you could get it) might be a good one.

Cronulla Sharks v New Zealand Warriors
1.40 v 3.00
Another match that could go either way in our books. The Warriors have been VERY close in most of their recent matches and it could all turn around this week. This will be closer than expected. Tip is NZ.

North Queensland Cowboys v Melbourne Storm
2.33 v 1.61
Melbourne are almost back to full strength and will be very tough to beat. The Cowboys would have trouble with Thurston playing – but with him out it will be almost impossible. 1.61 for Melbourne is good value.

Penrith Panthers v Sydney Roosters
1.44 v 2.80
The Roosters have been improving and could have sprung an upset before losing a couple of key players this week. Panthers to win.

Parramatta Eels v St George Illawarra Dragons
1.25 v 4.05
The Eels are very short to win this match – poor value in our opinion. They should win, but it will be close.

Wests Tigers v Gold Coast Titans
1.38 v 3.10
The Titans are due for a big performance. Wests to win with Titans to win at +8 start.

Newcastle Knights v Canberra Raiders
1.50 v 2.65
This will be a close match and Canberra at 2.65 is great value. The Knights have a lot to play for this week – should win.

Welcome to our NRL Round 13 Odds Preview allowing you to check out what’s happening in NRL Betting this week.

It’s an interesting week, with stars having the weekend off for State Of Origin duty. It’s always tough to pick winners this week, but we’ll do our best. There is a bit of value about this week – for sure!

Bet on NRL now – Deposit $30 and get a $100 Bet!

South Sydney v Penrith
2.15 v 1.72
This is a great opportunity for South Sydney to get back on track this week after a string of really disappointing losses. Expect them to put up a great fight this week and take it right up to Penrith. Souths to win in a very close go.

Canberra v Parramatta
2.60 v 1.50
Canberra has been improving and does play well at home, but Parra are on a roll. Expect this one to be closer than many expect. The Eels should win, but Raiders to cover the 6.5 point line.

Sydney v North Queensland
2.05 v 1.77
Like the Rabbitohs, the Sydney Roosters can get things back on track this week against a depleted North Queensland side. There’s value in them there odds – Roosters to win at home.

New Zealand v Melbourne
1.58 v 2.40
Melbourne have been killed by Origin this week. It’s going to be a huge effort for them to get close to the Warriors. New Zealand to win.

Newcastle v West Tigers
2.60 v 1.50
The Tigers had a shocking loss to the Eels last week while the Knights bounced back from a previous week thumping. This one will go down to the wire with both sides hurting from Origin. The experience of the Tigers should get them home.

St George v Cronulla
1.82 v 2.00
This is the toughest match of the week to pick. We’re siding with the StG Dragons to get up on home ground advantage. Stay away from betting if you can.

Latest NRL Betting Odds at Sporting Bet Aus

Welcome to ROUND 12 of the 2007 NRL Season. It’s a very tricky and interesting week in the NRL this week. It’s the time of the season that teams need to stand up and be counted. Expect some shock results, just as we had last week. Here are our NRL Round 12 Tips and NRL Round 12 Betting Odds for NRL Betting and NRL Odds.

Bet on NRL NOW – Deposit $30 and get a $100 Free Bet!

Penrith (2.60) vs Manly (1.50) – A tricky little match up here, with both sides coming off impressive wins. It will be easy for Manly to go into this match complacently, but they are on a massive roll at the top of the table and should eat up the Eels.

St George (4.00) vs Brisbane (1.25) – The Broncos had their biggest ever win against Newcastle last week (71-6) and they showed they don’t belong on the bottom of the table. One win doesn’t fix all of their problems however, and will they be ready to beat the Dragons this week? On paper, the match is over, but St George could surprise. Brisbane to win in a close encounter.

Sydney (1.40) vs Newcastle (3.00) – The Sydney Roosters had a wonderful victory against Cronulla last week. We suggested last week that the match would be close while everyone else said the Roosters would be beaten easily. The Roosters defense has been very impressive recently, while the Newcastle Knights have been terrible. Expect the Roosters to dominate this match, even with the return of Danny Buderus for the Knights.

Melbourne (1.16) vs South Sydney (5.25) – The Melbourne Storm home ground has been dubbed ‘The Graveyard’ recently. It’s tough to win there. Souths need to improve if they are to even get close. Melbourne to smack the Bunnies.

North Queensland (1.50) vs Cronulla (2.60) – The Nth Qld Cowboys put it to the Bulldogs last week, and they are tough to beat at home. Cronulla need to put last week behind them and start over. North Queensland to win by 6.

Gold Coast (1.55) vs Canberra (2.45) – Canberra have impressed recently, while the Titans had a very scrappy win last week. This will be a tight match. Our tip here is Canberra by 2.

New Zealand (1.82) vs Canterbury (2.00) – The Warriors continue to go bad away from home. Even at home recently they have struggled. Canterbury will not be happy with giving up a home game to play Nth Qld in Brisbane last week and going down. They finished that match off well and will be looking to continue that into their NZ game. Bulldogs to win.

Wests (1.80) vs Parramatta (2.00) – Wests just held on last week against Penrith, while the Eels impressed. For Parra, this will be a tough match to back up into. It’s a split decision and we’ll go with the Wests Tigers based on their home ground advantage.
