Thomas and Andrew to be Booted - Big Brother Odds

Big Brother Betting, Entertainment No Comments

Well it’s not going to take a genious to work out that Andrew and Thomas are leaving the Big Brother house this week. The odds have them as very short odds to leave - and it’s about time in our opinion.

Big Brother Andrew has been ruling to roost for too long and the public will put an end to it this week. Big Brother Thomas is kinda weird and spooky. His talk of how much sex he’ll be getting when he leaves the house isn’t helping him (that’s not to say that he won’t be getting his fair share!).

So the Big Brother Eviction odds this week are (two to leave the house):
Thomas - 1.03
Andrew - 1.08
Billy - 3.25
Joel - 11.00
BET NOW

Billy and Joel look to be safe, but stranger things have happened. Just 2 weeks ago Emma and Daniela were at similar odds to be evicted as Thomas and Andrew are this week. Emma left but Daniela did not. Odds aren’t always the final say - apparently Big Brother has that!

In the outright market - Travis is favourite to win Big Brother 2007, at 2.15. We find this to be poor value. Don’t get me wrong - the old Travo is sweeto and could wino… but watch over the next few weeks as his ‘real’ personality comes out. Watch him closely and you’ll notice that he is a student of the game - just over the past few days we’ve noticed him recount with ease the only person who hasn’t been nominated, the order of evictees, predict double evictions, know exactly how long he has been in the house and how long there is to go and even seen him smirk when he’s gotten away without being nominated. This doesn’t sound like someone that needs to take rocks into the diary room to nominate each week because he forgets who he is going to nominate. He’s there to win - most of his tripe is an act. Expect it to start being exposed.

Best value to win at this stage are Aleisha at 4.50, Billy at 12.00 and Zoran at 26.00

Big Brother Betting, Entertainment No Comments

We’ve been watching Big Brother closely, and it was no surprise that Emma was evicted last week. What was a surprise to us was that Rebecca was the 2nd evictee. Even more of a surprise was the huge vote that Emma commanded and the small margin between every other housemate.

BET ON BIG BROTHER - GET LATEST ODDS

It was possible that any one of about 3 people could have left with Emma, and as it turned out Rebecca bit the dust. We are certain that one of those close to eviction was Andrew, who you could have backed to leave at 51.00. It goes to show that nothing is for certain when betting on these things.

This week is an interesting voting week - with the two intruders and Joel up for eviction. Could this be the end for Joel? With his constant joking and getting himself out of ‘personal story’ situations, he could be primed to leave in a shock vote this week. Look at it this way - Laura and Daniela (the two he is up against) are seen as very similar to the voting public - intruders, sort of annoying, etc etc. So it is conceivable that the vote between these two could be split, leaving Joel quite vunerable.

That being said, Laura is the very short favourite to leave, so don’t be surprised to see that play out. Joel is the value bet here.

Here are the Eviction odds for Big Brother Betting this week:
Laura - 1.10
Daniela - 5.00
Joel - 9.50

Big Brother 2007 Betting Update

Big Brother Betting, Entertainment No Comments

It’s a very interesting week of Big Brother Betting this week with a double eviction taking place and 7 housemates on the chopping block. There certainly could be a surprise evictee this week.

Deposit $30 and Get a $100 FREE BET!

First, lets take a look at the Eviction Odds for this Big Brother Double Eviction:

Rebecca - 1.45
Daniela - 1.60
Emma - 2.25
Andrew - 3.00
Thomas - 3.50
Jamie - 4.50
Travis - 8.50

We’ve done some research and found that as of right now, the most likely to be evicted are Emma and Andrew. This might surprise you given their odds, but public opinion is moving in that direction. Why?

Well it’s no surprise that Big Brother Emma has made many enemies in the voting public. Her bitching and constant attempts at swaying the votes is wearing thin with viewers. Add to that her looks and she’s almost certain to leave this week. 2.25 is a steal if you can get on!

Andrew is more of a surprise prediction I would suspect. There are two reasons he might go this week. First of all, remnants of Hayley’s stay in the house. The voters never got a chance to evict Hayley and let’s just say that if she was up for public vote, it would have been a landslide. This could transfer to the Andrew vote this week. Secondly, Andrew is a good chance to get to the end of the show because he’ll never get nominated by his housemates and can win Friday Night Live. This is almost the only chance to get rid of him and the voting public knows this.

So there you have our predictions this week - in what is an almost unpredictable double eviction. In all honesty, anything can happen - so stay tuned and follow the money as the week goes on. Other possibilities to go are Thomas (people think he is being a little bit strange), Rebecca (probably not though) and Daniela (no save votes could hurt her).

Well it’s a very interesting week in Big Brother Betting this week (Bet on Big Brother), with an interesting trio up for eviction. Before we get into that, a quite recap of what happened. Jamie and Rebecca got the lions share of votes this week, with Zoran a distant third. Andrew had the nominations twist power, which meant he could remove one of those three and replace that person with anyone else. He quickly took Zoran out of the firing line and wanted to replace him with himself. Huh?

Mark our words, there is some strange stuff going on with Andrew - rumors are flying about him leaving early and trying to nominate himself could go some way to confirming this.

In the end, Andrew put Susannah up for eviction. This is a strange year of Big Brother indeed. All of this means that the girl everyone loves to hate (on the outside), Emma, remains another week.

The current Big Brother Eviction Odds are:
Susannah - 1.80
Rebecca - 2.35
Jamie - 4.50

Honestly, this is a really tough week to pick the evictee. Any of the three could go, but the bookies probably have it right.

Current Big Brother Odds:
Travis - 2.75
Joel - 4.00
Aleisha - 6.50
Andrew - 9.00
Thomas - 12.00

Billy - 13.00

Australia Big Brother Odds Update

Big Brother Betting, Entertainment No Comments

Here we have the third eviction of Big Brother 2007 and if you’ve been watching you’ll know its a very interesting house. We do realise that many of you have no interest in Big Brother, but if you can stand it, there is betting value to be had.

Big Brother betting has been reported to be quite strong this season. The bookies tried to restrict their losses on last weeks eviction with the clear favourites TJ and Bodie leaving together. We recommended that TJ was an awesome bet at 1.30, so I hope some of you took the great odds. It wasn’t long after that when she came into 1.14.

This week will be very interesting to see who leaves the house. The Big Brother Eviction Odds are:
Demet - 1.60
Emma - 2.10
Zoran - 3.80

It certainly isn’t clear cut that Demet will be leaving, but on the other hand the huge number of ‘Bodie Saver” voters should be throwing their weight behind Emma, so one would expect that Emma could be saved AGAIN by this. Zoran could be in trouble if that’s the case. I gotta say, this is too close to call this week - perhaps it will come clearer later in the week.

In the Big Brother outright betting market, Travis has flown into favouritism after the public got to see more of him in the rewards room on the weekend. He certainly will be hard to beat. Other value in Jamie, Joel, Billy and Nick.

Bet On Big Brother Odds:
Travis - 5.50
Thomas - 6.50
Andrew - 7.00
Aleisha - 9.00
Hayley - 10.00
Any Intruder - 11.00
Jamie - 12.00

Tim Campbell Leaving DWTS!

Entertainment No Comments

OK… So it only just happened and us here at The Winning Margin are (mildly) shocked that Tim Campbell has been sent packing away from Dancing With The Stars. Let’s not forget that last week we predicted this to happen (see our post here). He was 6.00 to leave the show this week so this was a great result for anyone that followed us. It’s hard to get into the heads of voters, but they really are a fickle bunch. Even though Tim equalled the top leaderboard scores, he still went home due to lack of public support.

So now we’re left with Kate Ceberano and John-Paul and Fifi Box and Paul. The two ladies will fight it out in what should be an interesting end to a pretty good series. Who will take out the title? Well, it really is anyones guess.

DID YOU KNOW… the dancing in the final episode of the series DOES NOT MATTER! That’s right - either couple can dance like a busted arse and still win. The rule in all previous years (and we have no reason to believe it’s changed this year) is that each couple dances a few times and the judges score them. Then they are ranked 1st and 2nd on the leaderboard. After that, they add in the rankings from the viewer votes. If the couple coming 2nd after the dancing has more viewer votes, then technically it’s a tie because 1 couple wins the dnacing and 1 couple wins the popular vote. BUT, the rule in this case is the couple with the higher viewer vote shall be the winners. SO, after all of that - it doesn’t matter how each couple dances - it’s really just a popularity contest.

Keeping that in mind, it’s hard to look past Fifi Box as the winner since she can get lots of support thanks to her radio show and other public appearances. You can BET ON FIFI BOX TO WIN DANCING WITH THE STARS at 1.50 or you can BET ON KATE CEBRANO TO WIN DWTS at 2.50.

Australian Dancing With The Stars - The Final Three

Entertainment 1 Comment

The final 3 for Dancing With the Stars has been decided, with Jamie Durie leaving the show last night. It was no surprise. Before the series started, he had some much promise, but that quickly eroded as he began trying to dance. If memory serves me correct, I saw him at a very skinny 1.60 to win the series before it began. Bye bye Jamie - unfortunately we’ll be seeing more of you on 7.

Now to the final three, and it was a shame to see Fifi Box injure her ankle before the show last night. Like a trooper, she soldiered on and put up a great performance. Our opinion is that she’ll certainly survive next week due to the popular support she’ll get from the fall. This leaves Kate Ceberano the favourite to leave next week at 1.50. Fifi is at 3.25 to leave and Tim Campbell is at 6.00

Campbell has been the star performer of the series. One can only imagine that all of the oldies love him and imagine dancing with him themselves. Removing that thought from my head, we feel that he will have trouble staying in the competition next week. An erosion of his support base and a pressured performance could land him 2nd or 3rd on the leaderboard, and a lack of public votes could see him go home. Of course, no guarantees, but at 6.00 this is certainly great value for him to be going home. On the other hand though, there are two female dancers left of similar ilk, meaning the vote will be spread across both of them leaving Ceberano vulnerable - so Campbell leaving is a long shot value bet.

In the race for the title, Tim Campbell leads at 1.70, with Fifi Box at 2.75 and Kate Ceberano at 5.50. BET ON DANCING WITH THE STARS NOW!

Deposit $100 and get $200 Free BetThe Australian DWTS contestants had a week off the dancefloor this week, and what a great time we all had watching highlights of the series so far… NOT!!! I hate it so much when networks decide to put a highlights show on half way through a series.

Anyway, of course we’re all more interested in betting on Dancing With the Stars, and now I wanted to bring you the latest Dancing With The Stars Odds. Sportingbet Australia has markets on the next celebrity to get booted off the show along with the celebrity to score the highest from the judges on the April 10 episode.

Here are the current DWTS odds for Highest Score from the judges on April 10:

  • Tim Campbell - 1.90
  • Kate Cebrano - 3.75
  • Jamie Durie - 4.50
  • Fifi Box - 6.50
  • David Graham - 51.00 (poor farmer Dave - what is he still doing there?)

Odds for the next celebrity to be eliminated are as follows:

This is a really hard series to pick the winner in. Tim Campbell is the best dancer, but the others are so entertaining (apart from Durie, who sends me into coma every time he dances - perhaps that’s because I’m not a woman??)

This weeks episode of Dancing With The Stars ended on a sour note for us. We have been loading up on betting on Todd Woodbridge and he unfortunately left the show after a sub standard dancing performance on the show.

Join now and get a $100 Free BetOh well, we live to fight another day I guess. Looking at the Dancing With The Stars Odds as of today, we see an inspiring performance by Tim Campbell last night take him way ahead in the betting markets. You can bet on Tim Campbell (Dancing With The Stars) at 1.80 thanks to Sportingbet (btw, these are the best odds as opposed to 1.65 at Centre Bet). He has really tightened up in the market in recent weeks.

Then we move out to the expected fast mover, Kate Cebrano. You can bet on Kate Cebrano at 5.00 odds, along with being able to bet on Jamie Durie at 5.00 also.

The surprise packet of the series has been Fifi Box. She has been doing very well, and her personality is infectious. You can bet on Fifi Box Dancing With The Stars at 6.00.

Bringing up the rear, as always, is Tatiana Grigorieva who doesn’t hold much voting power with the public. You can back Tatiana at 21.00 or why not the outside of the field - bet on David Graham at 26.00 (how many public votes is he getting anyway?)

So that’s it for now from the dance floor of dancing with the stars. Feel free to post any comments to let us know your thoughts about the series.

What an interesting Dancing with the Stars episode we saw this week. What struck me at first is how much of a difference the viewer vote makes to the show. Tatiana Grigorieva danced well on Tuesday night. She probably didn’t get the scored she deserved, but she still sat mid-field after everyone had danced. Then, when the viewer vote was added on, she sat in 2nd last position, just a whisker from being eliminated.

Now, this tell me two things. First, the viewer vote really can make the difference (look at how easily David Graham got through on Tuesday night). Second, you need to be a likeable person to win the show - and Tatiana is not. Let’s be honest, she has the personality of wet cardboard and has no appeal to the viewers that watch the show. Sure, she is ok to look at, but noone is going to pick up and actually vote for her when other great personalities on the show are keeping it real and entertaining - like Fifi Box and Kate Cebrano.

So looking at who’ll be evicted this week and the favorite is another one with little personality, Naomi Robson at 2.20. Other’s favoured to leave at www.Centrebet.com.au are David Graham (2.85), Tatiana (4.25) and then daylight to the rest of the field. It looks like it’s a 3 horse race for elimination this week. Expect David to step up and not be at the bottom of the table this week - he’s getting better by the day and growing in confidence.

In the outright winner market, Tim Campbell is still the favourite at 2.50. Jamie Durie is then at 3.00 (still getting support despite his insistance to dance like a stripper every chance he gets) followed by Todd Woodbridge at 5.50 (still excellent value) and Fifi Box at 9.00 (let’s face it - can’t dance but can entertain!)

BET ON DANCING WITH THE STARS

Entertainment No Comments

Almost every Dancing With The Stars news story carries some sort of relation to the current betting odds for the winner of the series - and of course this story is no different.

But what a difference a week makes. Before the series, everyone expected the former male dancer and pretty boy, Jamie Durie, to win it easily. He was sitting at 1.60 at www.Centre Bet.com.au and all reports coming out of there were that he had been heavily supported.

But after Jamie’s first two Dancing With The Stars performances, things have changed a little. In all honesty, Durie is a disappointment. Everyone expected so much from him and yet again he’s turning in a sub standard performance, just as he did as host of Dancing On Ice last year.

So Jamie Durie’s Dancing With The Stars odds have now dropped to 3.00 and he’s no longer the favourite to win. We heard reports of some small bets coming in for Tim Campbell and Todd Woodbridge after the first performance - but after their 2nd on Tuesday night those small bets have snowballed into an avalanche.

Tim Campbell has shortened to favourite at 2.60, while Woodbridge (our dark horse selection) has firmed into 6.00. Almost all other competitors aren’t really given a chance apart from Tatiana Grigorieva (7.00) and Kate Cebrano (13.00).

It’s certainly no surprise that Wendell Sailor was booted from the show this week - it was reported that he tripped over his ego as he left the building. It’s amazing the way some people turn when they have years of people telling them how good they are.

Bets on Dancing with the Stars

Entertainment No Comments

Last night saw the launch of the hit Channel 7 show, Dancing with the Stars and if you can take anything from last night this season is set to be the biggest yet.

This year they have managed to attract some real stars. Unlike previous years where some of the so called star where not known, this year just about all on the list are name brand celebrities.

The early money will go on Jamie Durie, but based on his performance last night which was commendable he will face stiff competition from Home and Away Star Tim Campbell who looked every bit the professional dancer which may or may not be an advantage with the odds as last years show proved with Ariana not taking away the grand prize but she was heavily backed by punters.

Durie was 1.60 to win before the comp started - but is now out to 2.20 after his poor performance of the night. Don’t underestimate how badly Channel 7 will want him to win however. Expect to see him there in the final 2 or 3.

Here is how I see it going down based on the first week.

Fifi Box will be the first to go or David Graham who just didn’t seem to take the event seriously. Also, don’t be surprised to see Kimberly Davies as one of the first evicted.

All sitting in the middle of the road are Kate Ceberano, Tatiana Grigorieva and Naomi Robson.

My picks at this stage sit with Tim Campbell, Jamie Durie or surprise package Todd Woodbridge. Click here for the latest odds.

Australian Idol Grand Final Odds Update - Jess To Win?

Entertainment No Comments

Since our last update on the Australian Idol final two, Jessica Mauboy and Damien Leith had their final chance to show the public what they’re made of on Sunday night. We found it to be an interesting show, and one where, if you listened, the audience really showed who could be crowned the champion next week.

Jess certainly commanded louder and more sustained cheers from the crowd, but does this really mean anything? Proabably not, although the bookmakers have taken notice.

Jessica is now sitting at 1.70 to win, with Damien at 2.12 - this means that the money is following Jess and by all accounts, there has been lots of it.

Who do you think will win Australian Idol this year and why? Do you think it’s all about the singing or more of a popularity contest when it gets to the final two?

Australian Idol - Think you know who’ll win?

Entertainment No Comments

Well it’s finally almost over - Australian Idol. I have to admit, I am a bit of an Idol tragic - I follow it every year and spend time thinking about who will be eliminated each week and why.

The surprising part of it all is that Australian Idol really isn’t a beauty competition as many people think. This was proven last night when the most attractive and marketable (according to the ladies, of course) Idol finalist ever, Dean Geyer, was evicted by the public vote. This actually shocked me, but really it shouldn’t have.

Dean was clearly the less vocally talented out of the 3 remaining contestants. But his fan base should have been enough to get him across the line, right?

Wrong it seems. Where people once thought that an army of teenage girls were spending their weekly pocket money on voting for their Idol heartthrob, it appears as though this isn’t nearly the case. So just WHO is voting?

Let’s look at the two that did get through to the grand final, Damien and Jess. Damien has scored 3 Mark Holden touchdowns in his last 4 performances, an incredible accomplishment. But he sang 20 year old songs that have no chance of appealing to the younger audience, plus he really isn’t a good looking bloke. One close source at Endemol has told me that Damien won the voting by a long way last night - so WHO is voting?

The demographic of Australian Idol watchers has changed. There are now more 30+ year olds watching than ever before. Damien hands down appeals to this market and he alone has a mortgage on these voters. Is it any wonder that he easily won the vote this week?

Jess and Dean were left to compete for the under 30 voters and Jess triumphed. In all honesty, Dean doesn’t need to go any further in Idol anyway - he’ll no doubt have a record released before the Australian Idol finishes singing their victory tune.

So who’s going to win? A tough question to answer. But I think the voters aren’t stupid anymore. They don’t want to see a winner in the shape of what has come before, and in too many ways Jess represents both last years winner, Kate DeAraugo, and Casey Donovan who won in 2004. Both haven’t made much noise since winning, so will the voters go for the beautiful voice of Irishman Damien Leith, who stands to sell many more records? Perhaps.

Looking at the current odds, Jess is the favourite to win at around 1.75, with Damien at 2.05. The value is certainly with Damien, but then again the bookies might have it right based the the previous winners mentioned earlier.

Whatever happens, many people will be glad Australian Idol is about to end for another year. Have a bet on the result now as the outsider always provides the value.
