Khan Knocks out Earl in Just 72 Seconds
December 13, 2007 Boxing No CommentsKhan celebrated his 21st Birthday on Saturday night and he made it even more memorable for himself when he destroyed Graham Earl in only 72 seconds into the fight with a fury of punches that left the Referee Howard Foster no option, but to put an end to the fight, in the packed out Bolton arena. Earl seemed to start of the fight in style and was first to connect any significance punch, but Khan soon got the measure of him and soon had Earl backtracking with his trademark assault, a superb left hook from Khan had Earl rocking less than a minute into the fight and a fantastic left hook sent Earl crashing to the canvas which led him to be giving a 8 count by the referee. It soon became crystal clear that Khan had the full measure of his opponent, but no one could off predicted such a short sharp fight.
This was Amir Khan’s second defence of his commonwealth lightweight title and only his 15th professional fight, where as this was the first fight that Graham Earl has had since his defeat by Michael Katsidis back in February, where they were contesting the WBO Interim World Title.
Amir Khan has said that he is up for World Title fight now after destroying Graham Earl in only 72 seconds and he has stated that he has now proved all of his critics wrong! Ultimately this will be up to his Promoter Frank Warren, and we will just have to wait and see, who will be next in line to face the force of Amir Khan!
