Bet on Tri Nations Rugby
May 21, 2007 1:10 pm Rugby UnionA Bet on Tri Nations Rugby in 2007 is well worth a punt. I mean sportingbet.com.au have the odds as follows for the Tri Nations Winner;
New Zealand 1.38
South Africa 3.60
Australia 9.50
But in this Rugby World Cup year I really think that South Africa has to be in with a real shot at this title.
Just look at how the South African teams went in the Super 14s. 1st and 2nd with the Bulls and the Sharks finishing of the season on highs by beating the might of New Zealand Rugby’s elite in Auckland and the Canterbury heart land.
In the past New Zealand has struggled against the African National Team especially when it comes to playing on the Africans home turf.
As for Australia well at 9.50 what can we say? I would like to see them get up but in the face of such un-dynamic coaching and lack of balls I really think that www.sportingbet.com.au has this right.
Added to the equation for Australian Rugby is the removal of Gorge Gregan as the Captain. Now don’t get me wrong I don’t think this is a bad move but come on really! Why did this not happen last year or even the year before? How long does it take to make some wholesale changes to what was once a great team?
The old wood should have been cut ages ago and let some of these youngsters show us just what they can do. After all the under 21 and other Junior Wallaby teams perform year in year out. Are these not the teams that feed the Wallabies?
Get your head out of the sand Australian Rugby execs. The reds are an embarrassment and yet most of the other stats teams are made up with top class players who come from Queensland.
Maybe its time to chop the old wood from the establishment too?
