Australian Open Golf Odds Update - Day 1
November 16, 2006 7:28 pm GolfIn what is unseasonably dark and dire weather in Sydney today, the golfers teed off for the 1st round of the Australian Open Golf championship. We brought you news of everyones odds and who you should watch out for in yesterday’s column.
After round one, our big tip for the championship, Nathan Green, is already 2 shots clear at the top of the leaderboard. His outstanding 67 today was enough to show that he can mix it with the big boys of world golf. The question now is if he can hang on for another 3 days.
History in these tournaments show that the first round leader normally drops back to the field by day 4, so it will be interesting to watch.
It’s expected that Nathan Green’s odds have tumbled from his opening quote of $29 into around $6. Good luck to everyone that climbed aboard at $29s!
